He’s an average announcer. He’s fine like most announcers. He’s no Bob Uecker or Vin Scully. In fact I’ve said on here I vastly prefer Charlie and Dave and listen to them for most of the games I’m not attending.

But literally one quarter of the posts in most game day treads revolve around the color commentator for the TV broadcast. That seems.... off.

I’ve never talked about how “great” FP is. Because he’s unequivocally not great. 

He is a know-it-all that makes inane excuses for the most ridiculous things and talks down to people as if they don't know any better. You can be a rah rah guy without doing any of those things.

It makes sense if you have a decent bullpen. Yeah, Davy has not been on his managing game, but probably wouldn’t have made a difference as this team has hitting garbage splattered through the lineup.

Voth was finished as some on here commented CORRECTLY. The problem was letting Suero start the 7th when he was hit hard in the 6th. The problem was choosing Suero. I thought Fedde would finish for Voth but he gave up runs in the 8th. The bullpen  still sucks and that is on Rizzo. We need a closer and at least one or two set-up guys if we are to compete next year. Don't freakin' tell me we have Doo.

All bullcrap aside, FP says some really good insightful stuff sometimes. What pisses me off about FP is the constant excuse making. I get it, he has to fill a lot of air time and that can't be easy but the excuse making gets to me.



BTW, I'm on to you. You're keeping the debate alive in order to push the percentage of FP related posts to 25%.
