What’s so great about Trea Turner?
« Topic Start: September 06, 2019, 10:18:11 PM »
Without fail, every game he bats leadoff. I’m growing tired of it. His obp sucks. He should be given days off just like everyone else. His best asset is his speed, and now he isn’t running as much. I just don’t know what everybody sees in him. Also - don’t let those cute jump throws fool you, his defense is average at best.

Knowing how foolish this franchise is, they will give him a huge payday and let Rendon walk.

Lastly, Turner was the #1 reason the Nats lost the nlds vs the Cubs. He was atrocious. Yet always seems to get a free pass by the fanbase.

2.5 fWAR in 100 games. 4th highest OPS on team behind Kendrick, Rendon and Soto.

We all know the deal with AZ having an issue with Turner. In his estimation, Turner has an insurmountable handicap, he's white.

Everybody gets mesmerized by the speed and occasional homer. He doesn’t do it consistently enough for me. He should wreak havoc more often. Some nights he’s a non factor. Needs to be more aggressive on the bases. Also is a bit lazy. Never truly bolts down the line. He should have way more infield hits.

39th in all of baseball in infield hits despite missing 40 games.

Pretty rare to get universal agreement that a take is bad.

I posted the other day that he was number 9 in offense among shortstops.  That's very good.  Defense is just meh.  Wasn't this the same poster who was ragging on Rendon in previous seasons or am I confused.

He's not that much of an idiot. He has it in for Eaton though.

I know there was someone(s) complaining about Rendon and that he was not worth the money. Of course you don’t hear that now that he is having such a great year

Why does Turner bat leadoff? Because he’s fast? The offense is in a rut. Bat Soto leadoff. Move Turner to 6th or 7th where he belongs.

Why Soto? Why not Rendon?

Screw it. Bat the pitcher first to get his AB out the way.

.300 hitters with an .850 typically hit 7th?
