Wells has pitched very well in his last three starts, allowing just four runs over 20 innings, but has posted only a 1-1 record while the San Diego offense has scored only four runs for him. The Padres have scored two runs or fewer in eight of Wells' 10 outings this season.

The 44-year-old left-hander gave up two runs and eight hits in five innings of Tuesday's 4-1 loss to Pittsburgh.

Washington starter Jason Simontacchi  (2-3, 5.28) tries to bounce back from his worst outing of the season.

After giving up one run in 5 1-3 innings during a win over Cincinnati on May 23, Simontacchi got knocked around Tuesday, getting tagged for season highs of six runs and 11 hits in 6 1-3 innings of a 10-0 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers .

This is what you'd call a precautionary thread.  If the game is canceled, one of the mods can just lock the thread, since I'll be away for most of today.

They said the problem with moving this game until tomorrow is that no umpire crew will be here to officiate the game. So they'll probably try to get this one in at some point today.

I actually would've liked for this game to be played tomorrow afternoon so  I could go to it but I also want the Nats to get this curly W to take away the bad taste from last night's loss.

I find it hard to believe that they are going to start on time.

Goodevening or afternoon for you.
I'm a bit selfish: I hope we play today, tomorrow will be diffycult for me to watch..

Hm on mlb-tv they have a summary of yesterday's game in a kind of loop.
It's the 6th time or so I'm hearing and seeing the highlights....

Looks like they are going to start although it's raining pretty hard.  It should be an interesting game to say the least..

It was only a matter of time.  A rotation of Chico, Simontacchi, Bowie, Bacsik, and Speigner is just not going to get it done over the long haul.

Deja vu all over again. This reminds me too much of early in the season.

Must take advantage of extra outs.
