Are there other issues involved, such as the effort to get to/from Wrigley ? Or since these are day games, do many fans come from a long distance ?
This is a common trait of the Wrigley Field "faithful." Once the Cubs are losing in a blowout, they head for the exits. "Baseballs most loyal fans." Besides throwing back opponent home run balls (which they actually don't, the bleacherites have store-bought balls in their pockets and throw those back on the field) and throwing garbage on the field after an unfavorable call, its part of what makes going to a ball game at Wrigley so "charming."
