I like the players urging the fans to come out to the ballpark.  Of course, the worldly wise, sophisticated fans in DC realize it's just a selfish attempt to get more money in the coffers so the players can demand ever higher salaries.

You do good work.    Thanks.

You're welcome. In the early years, I was posting everything from scratch, which created lots of delays. So I started saving lots of stuff in a big GDT document, to be able to copy & paste it. Sometimes the hot-links to team logos fails, when the source has been deleted.
                :punch:
The box score data is just copied & pasted from ESPN, although the pasting requires a lot of format adjusting. When there is a possible error on a play, ESPN often has big delays before posting the resulting score.

Anyone else is welcome to post the scores, since I'm often occupied elsewhere lately. Seeing the score updates gives the GDT comments more context, so they make more sense when reading the GDT after the fact.

Senators2005 was posting score updates before I picked up the mantle.

I heard one the other day about the first day home after a road trip was rough.    I don't remember hearing that one before.

Actually thats a big thing in Las Vegas. Many baseball "pros" bet the visitors when a team returns home after a long road trip.

I don't bet often.    :)      May have to keep that in mind if I get out to Charles Town.    How about the 2nd day of a road trip?     FP seems to tout that alot as a slow night for visiting teams.

Let me repeat, Corbin should not be pitching right now.

Martinez showed some confidence in Corbin. Can we give him a little credit? I've been critical too, but this was great!

Zimmerman is tired.   Past his prime

Lerners can afford Rendon and Zimmerman

Yes, they can afford both because Zim will be cheap. But, Zim isn't necessarily "tired". He's been resting so much that we could see a nice resurgence from him. The only real problem is the plantar fasciatis

My brother was a sports book guy in las Vegas for years. One of the prominent theories/stragegies for bettors is tracking weird stats like that. They look for umpire/pitcher combos. I.e. If a pitcher is thought to be friendly with an ump then he will benefit more often than not. They track day game stats, bullpen production vs opposing teams, and so many other things. Apparently, the orioles win vs the Astros last week was a big win for bettors taking a chance on underdogs. A rare occurance because, as you know, the house hates to lose.

The writers of this song call the Saturday morning shows (WJFK and MASN) every week.    They don't self-promote much.

I think the song is a bit hokey but I like the passion. It seems to be catching on. Someone posted they played last night at the park.

In order for this song to catch on, it needs a crib notes version

A woman named Susan called in 106.7 this morning and said she wrote it and they played it pre-game yesterday.    On Phil and Mike's show, she usually tag teams with her husband (Jim?).    He'll start and then hand off to Susan.    I've heard both of them on many an occasion on both programs.     I don't think they're related to Sal in Leesburg though.      :couch:
