Why was Eaton playing so shallow with two outs?

Why was Eaton playing so shallow with two outs?

Not that it really matters but good question. Probably to keep the runner from scoring on a single.

Hopefully this ends Doolittle as the closer. He never should have been. Closers have to be able to get people out throwing strikes, not rely upon batters chasing balls out of the zone.

I wonder if you looked at Conforto's scatter chart, if there's where he hits pop flies to right.

That was a damn disgrace.  Does Hudson's contract prevent him from pitching more than one inning per game, or is lil' d just lil' d-ing?

As I said a couple of weeks ago -- Mets are on their way to the World Series.

The Mets will find a way to be the Mets.

Jesus freaking Christ.

That's not the worst loss of the season. Oh no. That's the worst regular season loss since September, 2005, and what is freaking worst about it is that even Bob Carpenter was saying it was badly managed. That's stunningly bad. A 11 year old managing a stratomatic game could have managed that better. Doolittle gives up six hits and four runs - and is now cooked for the weekend - because Davey can't freaking think outside the box at all.

Doolittle last three outings before tonight: 3 innings,  1 hit, no runs, 2 saves.  Don’t think he’s quite done yet.

True he has no great pitch but what is alternative?

Mets have all the momentum in the world right now. 14 of 15. Gonna be hard not to get swept.
