actually, what I meant is making outrageous predictions and then taking credit when they happen but stays silent when most of the crap he says doesn't even come close to happening (but your point is on the money as well)

I expected better from Slate.

He is who we thought he was. Dude is constantly predicting failure, which is not exactly going out on a limb in baseball. Then when it happens he throws his back out patting himself on the back.

If he really wants to impress anybody (and he clearly is desperately trying to do so) then he should call a home run or a gapper like FP did in the first inning. Now that would be impressive.

It's easy to say that with our view. Hearing Henley might be hard and trying to find that ball was difficult. You got Stroman at 90+ pitches. You need a run.  I can understand holding up there.
