I was more into the character part.     I don't know Slate other than his comments here.    However, Reverend Jim always cracked me up.

I remember 2 other occasions where Ross looked really sharp, only to start grooving his pitches in subsequent outings

It's going to be a nag to go from pittsburgh after a night game to chicaco to play the cubs at 2:20 the following day. FP is going to have a field day with that one
