Hell of a performance by the bullpen and great work by Ross to find a way to get the job done

Dumb. Theres no reason to do sprints. If there was, there would be a track in every bullpen.

All thungs considered, phenomenal outing from Ross. Only hit he gave up was a infield single to the pitcher.

Velasquez nearly threw out another runner at the plate and then made a diving catch on a sinking liner to save another run

Harper 0 for 6, down to an 829 OPS. Too bad!

Each week is 168 hours, and on a busy week, a relief pitcher does his actual job for less than one of those hours.   If you are getting paid a major league salary, there should be some expectation of keeping fit and athletic, that they can work in to those other 167 hours/week they aren't working.  Knowing nothing about him, I'm guessing Elias does do some of that.  I think sprinting that hard cold was probably the bigger culprit.  He should have known better, but man I hate criticizing a guy for playing hard when he shouldn't.

Hopefully he comes back in a couple weeks, the other new guys, and maybe the Bear come in and do well, Elias comes back and is awesome, and dave learns a lesson.

He had literally just warmed up and pitched in a game. That was as hot as his legs were going to get.

Davey in post game presser said Elias was told not to swing multiple times in Spanish and English before and during the AB.

Said Elias apologized to him after the injury and they said the pain is more in the buttocks and not the hammy. So they think he might have just cramped up

Nice surprise to wake up to. A combined one hitter no less. Sucks that it was to the pitcher.

Joe Ross pitching so posters are back to staying away for fear or hurting their gdt record. :smh:

Have to admit I didn't see that (Ross's performance) coming.

Isn't that worse than a hamstring injury?
