So the bottom line - is the bullpen fried going into the Dodgers series?

It’s unclear to me why you’d lose this game like this with fresh relievers on the bench. If they are on the roster, they should be able to get outs. Instead you send out an antique pitcher for his third outing in 2 days.

It's moronic.  Also, totally expected...

Yea. Have you looked at the stats?

Everyone here whined last Friday night when he didn’t put Doolittle in. You play to win now everyone said. That was exactly how he managed in the doubleheader. It caught up with them. At least they win the first three games. Maybe he should have saved Doo last night so he could pitch today? Everyone would have loved that.

I figured since they’re talking about Rodney pitching 3 times in 2 days was because he was the only one left tonight.

No no. Davey is a brilliant leader. That folic acid is working.

Javy Guerra’s last two appearances.

0.1 inning. Two hits. Two runs.
0.1 inning.  Four hits.  Three runs.

Yea. He should have closed today.

I would have used Doo given the pitching matchups in the Dodgers series. Just win today.

Grace needs to be off the team. That’s on Rizzo.

Passed ball on Suzuki allowed winning run.

I thought they ruled that a wild pitch. Looked like a passed ball to me too.

Didn’t that come after?

Without the PB/WP, assuming everything afterwards happened the same, the winning run would have been on 2nd, instead of 3rd, for Murphy's AB

Ok. I was thinking about the one after that. When Murphy took second.

But you had fresh relievers available! Why are they on the roster?

back to the idea that closing is a special monster and you need that special dragon slayer out there. I don't completely discount that because some guys can't handle the pressure but in a situation like today's (when the bullpen is on fumes) you have to send Guerra out there

Ask Rizzo.

He'll be on the pre-game tomorrow.     Think Kolko and Bo will ask him?

Can someone tell me how many earned runs the bull pen gave up in this series?    I think VaRK mentioned 5 in 3.2 innings today.

This is a big problem for me too. If the guys on your roster can't pitch in certain situations you have the wrong guys.

5 in 4 today after the last out in the 9th...11.25 ERA.  Not sure about the last 2 days...

Good series. Picked up two games on Atlanta.
