Dbacks aren't making up 5 games against us in 18 games.
they sure can, if we don’t win some games.

Things are getting way too close for comfort. Offense is picking a bad time to slump. Opposing starters are making the Nats look silly.

Brewers win, Phillies win, Nationals lose.   Cubs winning.  A dark night for sure. :'(

Cubs losing. D-Backs lose. Brewers win, but lose Yelich for season. Not awful for Nats.

Yelich is my co-favorite player (Freddie Freeman).  I hope the Brewers pass the Cubs, even if it means knocking the Nats out.  Our team has no chance to do anything in the post season.  Bunch of chokers.

The Cubs are now one run behind the Padres with many innings to play.  They will win that game.

Cubs lost.  Milwaukee has now won 5 in a row.  Really need a win tonight.

Milwaukee's season just ended. But we still need a win tonight.

Can't have their predictions of doom be wrong, can they.

I want this so badly.

Finishes needed for 5-way wild card tie at 87-75 (not that I am rooting for this, but I am definitely rooting for this): #Cubs 10-8, #Brewers 11-7, #Phillies 12-6, #Diamondbacks 12-5, #Mets 13-5. MLB would have to make it up because nothing on books on how to handle 5-way tie.

Yeah, that would be pretty great.  Especially if we are sitting around waiting for the winner.  I see they have rules up to 4 teams:

https://www.mlb.com/news/playoff-tiebreaker-rules/c-59527184

I think it's pretty obvious they'd extend that to 4 v 5 as a play in game to the semi finals of the tournament.  Biggest question is how to fit all those games in before the wild card game.

Mets beat D-Backs.  Cubs lose to Padres. Braves beat Phillies. Brewers beat Marlins. Nats 3.5 games clear of second wild card (Cubs and Brewers tied). 5.5 games clear of Phillies and Mets. 6 games clear of D-backs.

wouldn't all those extra games push the wild card game so far that they would likely eliminate the day off between the wild card game and the first round of the playoffs? that could hurt the Nats (assuming they made it in and won :?)

I don’t get this notion that the Nats have no chance in the playoffs. They’re as dangerous as anybody. 3 top end starters. An offense that can score in bunches. For my money, Rendon and Soto are the best 3/4 hitters in baseball. The key will be if Turner can get on base.

No one except for the haters is saying this team has no chance in the playoffs.

The bullpen is an area of concern. The idea of Suero pitching in October makes me queasy.

Joe Ross, fireman
Jeremy Hellickson, setup ace

Because nobody wants to face a 1 game wildcard game, when we have lost 3 game 5's at home.  It's a natural sense of dread that started in October 2012.

I relish the opportunity to attend a WC at Nats Park and to exorcize those demons.
