This is the screen shot right after the ball bounced. The second baseman has come to get the ball.

Right before Perez catches it. He came too far to get it and now has to dive all the way back to try and tag Zim. If he straddles second, all he has to do is catch and slap the tag down. Can be done with one swoop of the glove.

Perez was too anxious to get the ball, costing Gordon another outfield assist.
