Follow the Prospects: Taylor Guilbeau, LHP

Didn't see one so I made it. Been watching this guy for a couple years now and he's really developing nicely.

Didn't do anything special until 2018 when they converted him to a reliever. Now's hes got a low to mid 90s fastball that comes in at a wanky angle and a nice slider. Wasn't taken by anyone in the Rule 5 Draft and started the season in Double A. He's got a K-BB of 39-9 in 32 IP with a 2.53 ERA. He's also posting a 59.7 % ground ball rate.

Fangraphs talks about him here a little bit: https://fantasy.fangraphs.com/prospect-stock-watch-13-nl-east-rising-prospect-values/

Also a byline here: https://2080baseball.com/2019/02/2019-organizational-review-washington-nationals-2/

Like what I've seen on video. At worst, he seems like he could be a LOOGY. Could end up being a quality LHP reliever.

Seems like a guy that we've been lacking in our player development (depth arms for the bullpen who aren't just mid-4 minor league starters). Would be really nice to add him to the mix in 2020 as a bullpen option.

Really appreciate the info and breakdown. Seems like exactly the type of guy we need and have been missing. Wouldn't be shocked to see him get a shot this fall. Could he really be worse than Johnny Venters?
