Hasn’t pitched since august 18 after posting a 17.55 era that month. Placed on the 7-day IL on September first.
A bust if I ever saw one. Six years after being drafted he is in high A.
2 scoreless today (1H, 2Ks, no walks). Is there hope???
not only still alive, but promoted to Wilmington!
social promotion. He was like an 8 year old in kindergarten. Better for his self esteem to be with kids closer to his own age.
Just release him. Like the mercy rule.
Why? He's not blocking anyone. He missed two years to injury and covid. See no problem with him continuing to stay and work through the system as a reliever. Lots of guys, particularly relievers, make their MLB debuts later than 22.
You'd like to see some signs he's better than the level he's at before the bump up. IF you strain, in his his last 6 outings, he's gone 9.1 IP with a 1.93 ERA and a BAA of .129, but he's had 5 Ks and 4 BBS over that stretch and a BABIP of .154. Not a long track record of success, with his best performances tied to luck. https://www.fangraphs.com/players/mason-denaburg/sa3010648/game-log?position=P&gds=2024-07-19&gde=2024-10-31&season=&type=-2
Gotta see if he can stick at a higher level before you choose to renew or not renew this winter. He has one more year before MiLFA, I think, but I must confess I don't care because I saw him in person and verified there was an actual human form associated with "Mason Denaburg."
