they had the 1987 finals between Philly and Edmonton on the other night but unfortunately I don't get that network with my FiOS package.   That, IMHO, is the greatest cup series that I've ever seen.  Edmonton was up 3-1 in the series after only losing 2 games in the proceeding rounds. Then they managed to blow 2-0 leads and lost games 5 & 6, and then found themselves down early in game 7 only to come back and ice the game on a Glenn Anderson 30 footer with about 2 minutes left in the third.  Ron Hextall won the Conn Smythe in a losing effort.

The scene of Hextall realizing the Anderson shot went through his legs is one of the iconic moments in hockey:

Game six was the best. The night the spectrum roof almost blew off from the noise. The guy who wrote this article agrees that it was the best series. Game six is my favorite Flyers game ever. Even above the Cup wins. To come back against a dynasty like Edmonton was unbelievable.

Hextall was an amazing story after Pelle Lindbergh died a year earlier.

Also the Flyers would have won had Tim Kerr not been hurt.  Remember you heard that here.
