I disagree here.   If Strasburg folded in the second and hit the showers, we don't win this game. 

It may be a dumb stat for forecasting future success or ability.   But it's a solid stat for measuring success and accomplishment.   Similar to how wins/losses and especially playoff series wins are a terrible method for determining the actual best team, but we go with it to decide who to give the pennants and the trophies to.

I guess, but what really won him the game was Rendon’s 5 RBI. And if he had come out with one fewer out he wouldn’t have gotten the win. It’s arbitrary.
