Though its Bowden and Duquette, they seem to think Cronin could make it up to the majors by the end of the year. they say he is a Doolittle clone who throws a ton of high spin rate FB but has a 12/6 curve to get people off it.
Didn't see a FTP thread about Cronin so I'm bumping this.
I understand that a 21 y/o from the SEC should perform well in low A but Cronin has been unreal since signing.
20 IP, 0.90 ERA, 10 H, 2 ER, 37 K and .154 BAA. He walks too many people (10) and will need to clean that up, but he could be a quick-to-the majors guy like Bowden and Duquette predicted.
