There are two hall of famers on that staff. I am not sure it's representative of baseball as a whole back then.
Obviously, that was a record setting (for then) team. (Though swept by the NY Giants in the WS). But ... with only 8 teams in each league, all but the cellar dwellers (like the Senators, A's, etc) had excellent starting staffs. Teams only carried a couple relievers back then.
