Doolittle on a championship-type team is a 7th/8th inning guy depending on when a key lefty is up. To think this clown is a real closer is nuts

This is a dumb take. He just didn’t have it tonight.

I admire all of you that post in these threads every single night. I listen to every game, but I can't bring myself to sit and type about such a horrendous team. I commend each of you.

And some of us will be right back in 14 hours. :-[

We are getting swept in 4 games against a team that got swept by the worst team MLB has seen in a decade.  Not jus swept, but destroyed.  If Martinez is still at the helm Friday morning I don’t know what is happening.  Maybe I’m in the Twilight Zone.

I expected the 8th inning to work out that way. It is criminal that Rizzo has assembled this bullpen and expects to win games with it.

i guess my idea of closers are

rollie fingers
bruce sutter
dennis eckersly
mariano rivera

doolittle is a dime a dozen, up and down inconsistent reliever.

Lol, you just listed a bunch of people in the hall of fame. Nobody currently in baseball is a closer by that criteria.

In spirit. Apparently at this point that’s all it takes.

Too bad he didn't pitch last last and therefore unavailable tonight.

He's puckered up tonight.    He's goin' Uncle Ray on us.    I was bein' facetious that he would even suggest somebody should have caught that ball in left center.
