2 outs and Soto breaking back
It’s what losing teams do.

Game of Thrones series finale tonight (Season 8 sucks)
Despite the online groupthink...Season 7 sucked but Season 8 has been maybe a bit uneven but more good than bad.

No, you really don't. You still need a base hit to tie it up. On top of that, Soto doesn't have good speed and isn't a good baserunner. Almora is a good outfielder.

Had that throw been on target, Soto is out by about 15 feet.

You can't send him once you get the start Soto did, but the issue here is that he was headed back to the base on what was a clean hit with 2 outs.

You have 3 more innings to score 1 run instead of 2.

You go home on that hit 100% of the time with 2 outs.  100% of the time...

Heading back to second with 2 outs is unforgivable...Soto may have been out only because he freaked up and didn't go on contact...

Cutting a deficit in half in the 6th is as big as tying it at that point in the game.  If Soto was focused on the game situation, he would have broke on contact.  Youthful mistake, but a costly one and one he needs to fix

Maybe...but only because he didn't break on contact with 2 outs.  That's baseball 101...you don't need a PhD to know that...

Yes. He is a bad baserunner. We've already covered this.

But even with a good jump, he's out if Almora doesn't airmail the throw. Still would have held him at third.

Doesn't matter...you go down by 2 with 2 outs in the 6th...
