If Doolittle didn't play for the Nats imagine what our bullpen ERA would be?

Now Doolittle is unavailable for tomorrow due to overdose of warmup pitches.

So they called new york and agreed to put it under protest?  What did they talk to New York about?
I think New York said the Doolittle move was ok. And Maddon protested

Maddon was objecting to Doolittle's delivery (claiming it was illegal)

Maddon is alleging that Doolittle tapped the dirt after lifting his leg up, thus making an illegal pitch

C&D said that they called to find out if this could be protested. It seems it can. Appears Maddon wants MLB to look at Doolittle's motion and declare if it is legal.  Or sometimes legal and sometimes not, which would get umpires staring at Doolittle on every pitch. Martinez ought to have the umpires search Hendricks for emery board, vaseline, a razor-blade in the glove, or any of the classic ways to doctor a pitch.

he was trying to disrupt Doolittle and get in his head

Davey Johnson on Joe Maddon:

"A weird wuss!"

Fox broadcaster Joe Girardi was not interested in managing the Nationals many years ago. Maybe he's changing his mind.

Maybe, but I also think hes trying to take care of his guys. Edward's had the same thing called on him. He had to go to the minors to re-work his delivery

We would be a much better team if we reversed Gomes and Suzuki’s roles.

Doolittle after the game on Maddon:

This.

Gomes has turned out to be another follower that this club certainly doesn’t need. Gomes is another Twinkie in Mike Rizzo’s box.

Wow! We actually won a game I went to.  :woop: :panic:

Strasburg is at the top of his game. He’s pitching like he wants to opt out.  :couch:

Not enough talk about how completely dominant the man was last night. Between him and a pissed-off Doolittle on the mound last night, we had the kind of tandem hitters fear.
