Wiki'd Hachimura.    He was born in Toyama Prefecture.     That's my M-i-L's home.      The in-laws used to get me a sweater every Christmas.    Now I'll get Hachimura gear.        BTW Toyama is W. Honshu/Japan.    :)

I like the Admiral pick.     He was probably on Ernie's short list (Vols).
I will be in Tokyo and Osaka for a week in September. I might have to buy a Hachimura T-shirt to bring.

Get it in script over there and bring it home.     Your plan would be a conversation piece.     Might lead to good restaurants and Sapporo or sake.    :)

6’8 is not the same as 6’11 - unless he has a hell of a growth spurt, he’s not hitting that ceiling

Grunfeld is still in the bunker:

On Thursday, Washington acquired three players (Moritz Wagner, Jemerrio Jones and Isaac Bonga) in a trade with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to a person with knowledge of the deal. By doing so, the Wizards lodged themselves into the Anthony Davis saga as the third team in the monumental trade between the New Orleans Pelicans and Lakers.

I'm gonna miss Kara Lawson and I'm afraid Buck too.

ESPN reported Thursday that analyst Kara Lawson, Buckhantz’s broadcast partner for the past two seasons, will join the Boston Celtics as an assistant coach on Brad Stevens’s staff. A person with knowledge of the situation confirmed Lawson has resigned her role with NBC Sports Washington.

It’s a good move I think. No harm in getting cheap youngins when you have no cap room. And they picked up a future second rounder.

After hearing more about it, it does have an overall upside.    Wiz need to stash as many picks as they can get.

As long as the powers that be bring Buckhantz back, I can watch Bryant, Hachimura and Beal (Satoranský ...  money issue).     We're not 'skins' fans clamoring for a Super Bowl win in July.

EDIT   Satoransky's gone.    I was listening to 106.7 on my out and about.    One of the wags commented (paraphrase), "We can win 33 games for a lot less money."

Now that the dust has settled

Quote
the Wizards ultimately traded away Porter and Oubre, players they drafted third and 15th overall, respectively, and who developed into, respectively, a very good NBA player and a useful and intriguingly athletic one, who sure seemed to figure into the team’s long-term plans as recently as last October, in exchange for, in total, a single 2023 second-round draft pick. And not any old 2023 second-round draft pick! A top-36 protected 2023 second-round draft pick.

Point is by dumping Otto’s salary they can acquire other players they can then trade. Such as Simmons they recently acquired from Philly.

I like that.    If he's right, he won't hurt 'em.

Disclaimer:   I know nothing about the cap hit, etc.    :)

It’s a nice story but they don’t really have anything to trade to the Wizards. Except draft choices. And those would not be worth that much as Miaimi would be a good team.

Getting rid of wall’s contract is a good return for Beal
