You didn’t say he’s better than he was here. You said he “sucked” under Maddux. An ERA+ of 152 is not sucking no matter how confidently you say it.
And he did. No one wanted Gio here. No one. Stats dont mean crap.

Gio. Roark. Gott. Treinen. All here under the tutelage of Maddux. All struggled. All left here and went on to become much better.

Dusty won 95 and 97 games.

Now they can’t win 2 games in a row.

(Image removed from quote.)

Too bad he couldn't win two playoff games in a row.

I’d still like to know what Davey was trying to accomplish by bringing camels to spring training. Mocking your teams failures is an odd way to introduce yourself.

Half the board here talks crap about Max and Strasburg. That hardly means anything.

I didn’t say anything about Gott and Treinen. And neither did you. And I didn’t say Maddux was good. I just said Gio, by any objective measure, didn’t “suck” in 2017.

1 hit tonight. Glad everything’s back to normal. Last night was alarming.

Tanner went from a sub 3 ERA to a 4.67 ERA under Maddux.

Gio is currently pitching the best of his career.

Roark got to a sub 3 ERA under Maddux.

Stats speak for themselves. Gio is a better pitcher for leaving DC. Maddux was smoke and mirrors.

Show me the stat that says that Gio was a bad pitcher in 2017...

No, he started with one. He then ballooned to 4.67 under Maddux.

3.93 FIP. Oh and his postseason performance.

Gio was trash here. Magically goes to Milwaukee and becomes an ace. But no, let's go on about how great Maddux was.  Let's talk about how well he handled Tanner who went from Greg Maddux 2.0, to a barely adequate number 4. Or how about how he had two All Star relievers, but couldn't get them to do crap while they were here.

We never stopped. Like I said, this team has no sense of urgency. Hasnt since 2012.

I'll have to look at the stats, but I don't really give two craps.  Right now I want to know why Grace is still on this squad. Pathetic.
