Follow the Prospects: Justin Connell, RF

What do we know about him? Seems to be hitting for high avg but not much power so far. Played all 3 OF positions so far.

From what I remember, he was always an athletic kid with good speed. I was intrigued as a high school signee as an 11th rounder, but there really hasnt been much talk about him. He seems to show great plate discipline at every stop.

It's good to see him hitting at the full season level. There should be more reports to come with more people seeing him.

Interesting player to me because of his defense and speed. Still only 22.

This season at Wilmington (A+) -- .295/.347/.383 with 17 SB. 40/15 K/BB. He shows basically no pop with only 5 career minor league HR in 838 ABs, but could be an Andrew Stevenson type guy in a few years. Someone to keep an eye on.

MiLB doesn't have any news about a release on his page, and he's been playing in Harrisburg every day. Maybe he was demoted to Wilmington but I dont think he was released.

I could have sworn one of the prospect sites reported that he was released in early August but I can't find it.
