Well at least we can take comfort in fact that Ted Lerner, the 93 year old second richest man in baseball, hasn't gone over the salary cap. He's going to take the savings with him.

I think we should raise a salary cap flag. Maybe have the Joint Committee on Taxation Chief of Staff throw out the first pitch? Or perhaps a lobbyist from the American Association of CPAs?

Highest payroll in the division- blame the guy assembling the team, more money for less performance isn’t exactly a winning formula

I kind of thought that the initial imaging only catches the obvious problems and that you really can't tell with confidence until the inflammation is gone.

Or at least reduced. Also, an X-ray will only determine if he broke bones, not if he strained/tore something

He thinks he can play tomorrow, but I would hold him out one day especially since he hasnt sat much this year.

At least they didn't make it an inter-league game with the Cubs...who have an Iowa AAA team.

I'd love to go to this, but I imagine that all the seats are already spoken for...so maybe we'll just go to Spring Training in West Palm again next year...

The Pythagorean Expectation calculation can be used to estimate over/underachievement based on winning percentage vs. expected winning percentage given runs scored.
NL East contenders to date:
Nats, actual .534/expected .542/difference -.008 (1 more win)
Braves .583/.550/+.033 (5 more losses)
Mets .517/.511/+.006 (1 more loss)
Phils .508/.471/+.037 (4 more losses)
By this calculation, Nats should be expected to trail the Braves by just 1 game and lead the Mets by 4 and the Phils by 8.
One can interpret this to mean the Nats are the only underachievers among NL East contenders.
