And making such a fuss about whether to visit the White House or not. Coincidence? I think not.   :whip:

That Eovaldi contract lasts a lot longer than 10 months, however.

i saw a take that they fired him because he is terrible at rebuilding/building through the draft and the next couple years will be primarily building through prospects again. still seems weird. i guess  his job was to maximize the core they had, which he did, and now they want someone who won't just try to spend their way out of problems.

well, TBH, I've sniped at a lot of his moves so I can't say I'm displeased, but I'd hate to have to come in and try to pick up the pieces.  that team may be in need of another Punto trade (Nick Punto and 3 throw ins for salary relief - Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford, and Josh Beckett) to get rid of a lot of anchor contracts.

Walked over to the local store today (Seattle 'burbs) and had on my :w:  hoodie.    Guy asked me about the Nats.    We chatted a lot about baseball generally and old time baseball (50s and 60s) mostly.    He is originally from Chicago and was a White Sox fan.    It wasn't VaRK.

Yea I wasn’t displeased to see he’s been fired, I never liked him to begin with, just stunned they did it before the end of the season.

Tony's last name is what?  Rendon?  Funny way to do witness protection, but I guess it's better than being a Russian under your own name.

Mets scored 9 runs on 11 hits yesterday, and MLB announces no punishments for Alonzo or anyone else who wore custom cleats.

Cards beat the Cubs today 9 - 8 in a game where the lead changed hands every other inning.  Cards scored 2 in top of 9th and shut Cubs out bottom of 9th

It’s all Dodgers all the time here on TV in Korea. They especially went ga ga over Ryu hitting his first HR. Gives me some hope that I can watch the Nats take on the Dodgers in the NLDS.
