Phillies-Diamondbacks combined for 13 homers. Most homers in a game in MLB history. For those who are wondering, Bryce hot none of them.

should use metal bats!

(OK, so they don't use them anymore but if we are going for nostalgia, do it once).

Omaha is nice this time of year, and playing at TD is much better than playing where the AAA team is.

they send down Clint Frazier, who was 4th on the team in HRs, to make room.

that kid has been trashed by the team's head play-by-play guy for having a concussion, had lies made up about him by the radio broadcaster and has been acquired-over multiple times by the front office (though in objectively good moves). he's had a really challenging young career, and shame on the NY media for being so hostile to him for no reason other than they wanted to find a kid to attack and he's vocal enough for it to stick.

i'd look to acquire him in a selling trade his summer but i think his defense next to soto and robles is too much of a gamble.

I would expect the move of Soto to 1st to happen next year were Frazier or another OF acquired.  Also, Robles will be good . . . eventually.

Fair. Frazier interests me because there's no where for him to play long-term in NYY and he'd be a nice aggressive bat in behind Soto & Rendon. Those two guys get on at a .360+ OBP consistently, Frazier's bat speed hits gappers and homers...would be really fascinating.

Turner
Robles
Soto
Rendon
Frazier
Suzuki
Kieboom/2B
RF/1B

:stir:

If Frazier wasn't on the Yankees I'd say Boston could be interested (no idea their OF situation). Stash his defense in LF and let his RH power to go to work, plus I think his personality would fit well on the Sox.

Bradley I think is in his walk year and Mookie walks at the end of 2020.  JD has an opt out if he hits 40 HRs.  They have C-1st-3d-SS and LF covered long term.

Cardinals closer Jordan Hicks has torn UCL. Maybe they will bring back Rosenthal.

...  and he will pitch the rest of the season with 19 saves and a 1.55 ERA.    :)

There really is no reason not to sign the guy to a minor league contract. If he comes back, great, if not, nothing lost. He throws hard and I imagine he will eventually get his control back. I'm sure if the Nats could have stuffed him in the minors indefinitely, they would have.

London sits at about 51 degrees north.    The ball travels further at that latitude.     :couch:

Don’t give me any of your crap or I’ll challenge you to a duel.

Seeing the corporate advertising on the side of the batting helmets takes getting used to.

Hadn't even noticed it.    I was mesmurized by the Mitel signage.     With a little paint, I could put that in my yard.

That time elapsed photography of the field construction was pretty cool.

I remember watchin' PNC and Nats' Park being built.     That was cool.

I saw the one for Nats Park. Hard to believe it was so long ago. Sound travels pretty good across the pond with Benetendi dropping the f-bomb.
