as one writer put it, Sandy Leon at $2MM got waived in spring training, and no one claimed him. Swihart at $500K gets waived, and there will be about 14 claims. My guess is he's traded.
It won't change much, but Swihart actually makes close to a million. He was somehow a Super Two. It'll be interesting to see who claims him. An NL team would make more sense to use him as a utility knife, but the AL gets priority. Oakland might be one possibility: they love defensive versatility, love switch-hitters, have a pile of dung behind the plate, are cheap, and love reclamation projects. But they're fairly late in the waiver chain.

he was rostered for half a year his first call-up in 2015, when he did well, and was rostered all last year, because he was out of options. As for 16, they used him as a utility guy until he was hurt.
Vlad Jr,, come on up! Blue Jays promoting him.
woo-hoo...my "favorite-player" Jr.
woo-hoo....one of the rare times that I will be watching my Jays over my Nats, as Vlad debuts, tonight !watching the pre-game, now, and it's all about Vlad, with all the hype rarely/hopefully feeling worth it...
freak Joe Carter forever. And Mitch Williams.
