The A's released Fernando Rodney.  Come on down!!!!!!!!!

I hate this guy from when he was in Detroit. Signing him will be what makes me switch my fandom to the O’s.

I hope Rodney never makes it to the bigs with the Nats.

Thought you gave up on them?
First pitch was a slider.

Wasn't the third pitch a slider?  (I don't actually recall seeing a slider, just that his swing was so awkward, I assumed it was.)

Rodney actually pitched quite well last year between Minnesota and Oakland. If he could come in and solidify the 8th that would  be huge for us.

Rodney in for Barraclough
Venters in for Grace
Miller for McGowin
Guerra for a 5th bench player
Hellickson DFA

Scherzer
Corbin
Strasburg
Sanchez
Fedde

Doolittle
Rodney
Suero
Sipp
Rainey
Venters
Miller

We might be actually able to hold a lead in the 7th, 8th and 9th.

Rodney walks too many guys, its gonna be not "locked down". His whole thing is if you swing at his change up and if he cant locate his fb. Nobody will bite on the change because its unhittable.

his character seems to be so very unappealing, but what about 'ken giles' from my Jays?

Seems like he can locate the fastball, it's the slider that is all over the place, he did throw one good one tonight to get the 1st K.

13K in 7.1 IP and his only blip was his first game giving up that home run. Guy has been really solid.

If Rosenthal can come back in and be a mid-3 ERA reliever level, we might have a shot.

Tanner has no doubt been a bright spot.  We'll take it.  At this point, you just look for the next ONE guy besides Doo you feel good about.  Between the guys we have, Rosenthal hopefully returning to form, the minor league scrap heap dart throws...just hope you find a guy or 2 that aren't terrible and can get some outs.  Then go get some real help ala 2017 to supplement them.

I don't like the dude, but Grace has also picked it up.  He's given up one hit in his last eight times out there (sixteen outs).

Yeah. He has pitched more than one inning exactly once. Suero also pitched more than one inning yesterday.
