Nats signed Dante Bichette Jr

Independent league all-star, worth a flyer.

9 years in pro ball and he’s never gotten higher than AA.  Yikes.

I seriously doubt it, Slater.

I've seen Dante play a lot of baseball.

In short: don't expect much.

Nats returned from rehab assignment and reinstated RHP Trevor Rosenthal from the 10-day IL.

Awesome. Now we have multiple strategies to blow leads.

Give up home runs OR hit people.

Someone make that Wolverine meme where holds up the picture frame, and have one for Giolito and one for Pivetta

Yes but I still wish to be entertained. Plus, now PB can get excited because we'll hit more batters and that will show that Davey is a better manager.

Apparently move is going to be made. I bet Barraclough is going to be DFA’d

Nationals appear to be making a roster move. They've been going with an 8-man bullpen and a 4-man bench for a while, been wanting to switch to 7-man pen and 5-man bench ...

Why in the world would we make a move to get Sanchez back on the team?  Guy is a bum.

I mean, blue is hoping we're DFAing Barraclough

Why in the world would we make a move to get Sanchez back on the team?  Guy is a bum.

There are other bums in the bullpen who have hurt the team more from the bullpen than he will from the bench.  The team's been without a backup shortstop for weeks, and they have no way to improve infield defense in late innings if they want to.  He solves both.  He's not the best use of a roster spot in the world, but there are worse ones.

His ideal role is as an insurance policy who barely plays.  For example, it allows you to more freely use both Parra and Kendrick/Adams as pinch hitters, because Sanchez backs up the entire infield and makes things less risky.

Best news in a long time.

Hopefully Suero is next.
