So which one got shot after you translated?

Neither but I did go home and polish off some Old Number 7.

I wrote lyrics about that one time.       :glug:

Bryce sounds incredibly relaxed and human at his presser. A bit funny. Emotional about his new kid.

One of my takes on Bryce is if he truly, seriously wanted to be here, he wouldn't have hired Scott "go to free agency" Boras or he would have told Scott, his employee essentially, "get a deal done with the Nats off this 10/300 offer. The goal is to beat Stanton and get it done asap."

He can't have it both ways. He wanted a record contract and our first offer was close and if the Nats say it was take it or leave it they're liars because Scott never even engaged with them and I would bet a ton that if he said, "how about 12/320 with slightly less deferred" it would have gotten done.

He can't say he wanted to stay and also let Boras tell him where he's signing.

I am too and I think at some point in his career he'll regret leaving over a small sum of money in a very huge contract.

Let's all just be very thankful that he did...

No for sure, one of the Weaver's did it several years ago with the Angels so it's not like a player has never told Scott Boras what to do. Brcye's main goal for sure was the dinero and having his ego stroked but now that the dust has settled I just get the feeling he wishes he could still be here, he seems to be pushing a bit too hard on the "Isn't Philly the greatest place EVER??" to make it seem like it's genuine, to me anyway.

Some folks think their HS girlfriend/boyfriend still wants to be with them.    They're gone.    They walked out on you.    They left.

Was gonna post the Ernest Tubb version but he's old.    ;)

So can we all agree that Bryce is an jerk. He’s always been an jerk, but he was our jerk. Now, screw the guy. The wave after the double was fairly petty.

And I have a bad feeling Bryce will own us for the forseeable future.

Of course it was, and it was hilarious and I will forever miss his personality with our team :(

Fans did him a favor last night. You could tell he was pining for his old team. Now? Probably not so much.

And goddamn, Philly is good.

Did we learn nothing from Harper’s time here? He’s always great in April.
