One of my takes on Bryce is if he truly, seriously wanted to be here, he wouldn't have hired Scott "go to free agency" Boras or he would have told Scott, his employee essentially, "get a deal done with the Nats off this 10/300 offer. The goal is to beat Stanton and get it done asap."
He can't have it both ways. He wanted a record contract and our first offer was close and if the Nats say it was take it or leave it they're liars because Scott never even engaged with them and I would bet a ton that if he said, "how about 12/320 with slightly less deferred" it would have gotten done.
He can't say he wanted to stay and also let Boras tell him where he's signing.
