Zim is a vet. I get a rookie manager allowing a vet coming off a very, very good year to decide how he wants to prepare himself for the season, especially when he's had issues staying healthy and "easing in" makes some sense. He didn't come out of the gates strong, so they have both said he's going to play more this Spring. So what's the beef? Because it's not the first couple of days?

Actually, he's been working for DoD and is testing the new "Stealth Zimmerman." He's actually playing, but it does not show on electronic media.

Ryan Zimmerman, meanwhile, is not in the lineup as Davey Martinez had said he would be. Zimmerman has been sick the last few days, and though he reported to the ballpark this morning Martinez sent him home to rest (and not contaminate anyone else). With the Nationals going across the state to face the Red Sox in Fort Myers tomorrow, Zimmerman’s spring debut now is being targeted for Friday in nearby Jupiter.

Zimm doing drills today and scheduled to start tomorrow per Zuck (assuming his workout today goes OK).

Zimm and Strasburg are the only guys left from our first playoff team now IIRC.
