Broken nose for Strickland.  In about 2 years he’ll sneak back into the weight room and beat the weight set with a wrench

This made me laugh out loud. What a ridiculous injury.. Hope it doesn't impact him at all, he has been great.

Per Zuck: Elias threw off a mound today and should be heading for a rehab assignment soon.  Doolittle expects to be back this weekend and is throwing a simulated game tomorrow.

HBP on the calf just below the knee. He tried to tough it out but got pulled since he was limping running  around the bases.

Hellickson update from Zuckerman:

Quote
Hellickson, out since May with a shoulder injury, has now made 5 rehab starts for the rookie league GCL Nationals in West Palm Beach. (That league, for what it's worth, is having its season end early today because of Hurricane Dorian approaching Florida.) He threw five innings in Tuesday's start, so he's built his arm back up pretty significantly. So you'd think the Nationals will activate him off the IL on Sunday when rosters expand. The only issue is that he's been on the 60-day IL, which means they'd have to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for him. It's possible they'll do that, but they'd have to feel like he was going to be useful to them down the stretch. It's a bit of a tricky situation. We'll find out an answer by the end of the weekend.

There are plenty of dudes on the 40-man who can be DFA'd. Grace, Austen Williams (moved to 60-day), Sanchez, Noll or Difo are all candidates. Noll & Difo are the safest of that bunch, though Rizzo worships Matt Grace so despite his 6+ ERA I'm sure he'll stick around.

Gotta be :panic:.     Riding to the course this morning and a caller on 106.7 was ready to lose it over :panic: still bein' on the team.   The caller also mentioned :panic: being on Rizzo's good side for some reason.

Hellickson update from Zuckerman:
It's amazing that now this team will have real starting pitching depth.  And have so many bums in the pen.  Wish one those 5th starters could be useful in the pen???

Wouldn't do anything useful.  He's already on the 60.
