I'd love a sports medicine guy to explain how getting hit above the elbow leaves fluid in the joint.

Gravity...  :mg:

retroactive to April 27, so I think that means he can come back on May 7.
Rendon had fluid drained from his elbow according to Byron Kerr.

Off Topic...are you the last Moderator standing?

Derp is MIA, Nathan disappeared a long time ago, and Schwab only shows up to delete a post that he doesn't agree with...  :D

Haven't heard anything about that.  Tom's last post was 4/14, last log in was 4/24.  Must be hiking somewhere.  Squab comes around when there's an expectation for winning, so . . .

The Yankees have 33 WAR on the IL based on prior year performance, which is the most since this started being tracked in 2002. The highest before that was the Nationals in August 2017 with 22 WAR. Just thought it was interesting.

...and they are playing very good baseball.  Injuries is an excuse for the weak, heartless and spineless.

There’s also generally positive news for the Nationals on the injury front. Outfielder Juan Soto was held out tonight owing to back spasms, but MLB.com’s Jamal Collier tweets that an MRI did not reveal any cause for concern. It’s not yet clear when he’ll be back in action, but Soto hasn’t gone on the injured list and will likely be slotted right back in the lineup as soon as he feels up to it. The club also can begin to look forward to a return from shortstop Trea Turner. As Jesse Dougherty of the Washington Post reports (via Twitter), Turner is moving a bit faster than had been expected and could be ready to begin swinging a bat this weekend. That’s a significant step for a player nursing a fractured finger.

Wait - he's moving a bit faster?  Since when does a finger stop you from moving?  Moving faster now is a significant step for a guy with a fractured finger?

Healing a bit faster might make more sense since now he can swing a bat?

Moving faster through the recovery process?

Not the best wording.

They have one win against teams .500 or better. They're playing well because they're playing Triple A teams

Poor writing. I think they meant the healing process is progressive more quickly
