And to make room, it was  Austin Adams sent down.  Not a Rendon move yet.  This looks consistent with expecting Rendon only to be limited for a few days.
I find it curious because Colorado is a place you expect to need more out of your pen

Yes, but they literally had no backups at 2B, SS, and 3B with Rendon unavailable, and they don't have a backup outfielder with options to send out to swap.

updates from Zuck:
- Rendon available to pinch hit
- Zimmerman hurt his heel making a leaping catch, just out today to rest it
- Scherzer on track to start Friday
- Miller will appear in back to back games for Potomac and then be activated assuming all goes well

here are the details on Zimmerman:

* Ryan Zimmerman is also out of the lineup after landing hard on his heel making a leaping catch at first base last night, but Martinez said he had planned to give the veteran today off all along. With a quick turnaround to today’s matinee and then an off-day at home, Martinez thought it would be a good idea to give Zimmerman a full 48 hours off.

Matt Adams, who drilled a double off a left-hander last night, gets the start at first base today against Rockies right-hander German Márquez.

The play occurred in the bottom of the fifth, when Zimmerman had to leap to catch a high throw from Howie Kendrick, then had to watch his landing as Mark Reynolds slid into first base. He was limping a bit afterward, and though he took two more at-bats and reached base both times, he didn’t run the bases at full speed.

“He’s said his heel’s bothering him a little bit, but he said he thinks in two days he’ll feel fine,” Martinez said. “He told me he’s available to pinch-hit or whatever we need him for.”

Carter Kieboom is being called up. I would bet Rendon died.

Probably means a DL stint for Rendon.   If Kieboom rakes they will have an interesting decision to make about Dozier.

No, he probably just broke his elbow but the crack medical staff missed it

Zuck notes Turner hasn’t resumed any baseball activities and is still wearing a brace so he could still be a month away.  Kieboom hasn’t played at third at all this year.

must have disturbed his inner ear and sense of balance enough to lead to wildness.  Tragic. It's almost like having your head nailed to a table.

Mike Rizzo told reporters (including Mark Zuckerman of MASNsports.com; Twitter link) that Rosenthal has been dealing with a stomach malady that had spurred significant weight loss and muscle fatigue. After a trip to the doctor today, the decision was made to place him on the IL.

Wow, pretty unorthodox move to poison your own player
