I would've pinch hit for Simon, Manny.

No way. Simontacchi has only thrown 60 pitches and he has been pretty effective. I'd like to get 7 innings from him tonight. That would be nice considering that Bacsik and Bowie are pitching the next 2 days.

He's only at 60 pitches. He could give us 8 or 9 innings, and we'll need the bullpen for a few starters.

Guzman can't catch anything tonight just as the Nationals can't catch any breaks tonight

I hate when this happens.. Simontacchi will be pitching fine and then all of a sudden his outing will just turn disastrous. Whenever things get bad for him they keep getting worse.

3-0.. Simontacchi pitches like a rookie. Whenever he gets into jams, he has no ability to limit the damage.

3-0 with Penny pitching the way he is, our chances for a cb are slim.

nice DP.. 9 hits allowed by Simontacchi through 6 innings but it's a quality start.

Guzman almost air-mails it. Inning over. Let's go offense!

Is Manny yanking him? I would've done it after the lead-off single regardless of his pinch count. We had a day off yesterday, so the pen should be rested.

Alright, forgive me.
As most of you know, I'm following via the computer and it's very delayed.

You're nuts. The bullpen is way overtaxed. They've pitched more than any bullpen in the ML. One off-day isn't going to rejuvenate them that much.
Simontacchi is giving us a decent enough outing. The offense is what's giving us no chance to win.

An official
QUALITY START
by Simontacchi. 3 runs, 6 innings. 77 pitches and still going. He's earning the #5 spot in the rotation. You don't get this much from most #5's. We are still in this game, even though Penny's a top pitcher.

They need to take him the other way early in the count. They're letting him get ahead every time.

Man, F-Lo grounds out. I was hoping we would do to Penny what we did to Arroyo. I guess not.
