Too bad it wasn't someone in the organization.
The more I think about this the more I lean towards believing that someone had to suspect something was going on there. He had been doing this for over two years
I never got the draw of Woody Allen's work either.
Do you guys think it’s impossible to keep this a secret. People keep a whole lot of shady stuff from their bosses. I would think it might not be difficult to keep a mostly internet relationship from the team?
I’ve heard so many people say this. I wonder if anyone actually likes his movies or just think they ought to in polite company.
Agreed completely, I highly doubt teammates were like "what'd the 13 year old send you now?" but then continues to amaze me how many men apparently think this is just fine so who knows.
Seems like Nats really, really dodged a bullet when Desmond turned them down. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2019/10/the-ian-desmond-problem.html
recall he had some success with Texas I think right after he left here. That got him his Rockies contract. How long was the Nats deal he turned down?
we offered him a 7 year deal that would have extended him through the end of the 2022 season. Geez could you imagine that albatross right now? This team has been incredibly lucky. The long-term deals we signed (Zimmerman, Scherzer, Werth) have worked out well, while the ones that the players declined (Desmond, JZ, Harper) would have crippled this franchise.
Dusty Baker is interviewing with the Phillies.
Sadly that’s probably just to check a box.
Do they have the Rooney Rule in baseball?
Yeah. The Selig Rule implemented in 1999 requires teams to hire at least one minority for coaching or front office vacancies.
Hire or interview?
Sorry, interview, not hire.
We’re both wrong, it’s consider!
