They don't over look it once it's found out.    However, I do believe organizations miss the signs of a lot of issues   ...    from drug/alcohol, gambling, to odd internet relationships (I'm trying to put it nicely), etc.     They don't wanna know.     Somebody knew or suspected.    Now, whether they followed up with anyone is another question.    Even if they did know, this sort of thing has to be handled by an outside entity and they should (or maybe did) contact the cops.    It's not an EAP deal.

for sure, if ANYONE knew or suspected their first order of business is to notify the authorities, which who knows since he was caught may have actually been the case.  Turning a blind eye to something like this is NOT acceptable.
