I still remember most of that Green Bay line. Jerry Kramer and Fuzzy Thurston (I think) at guard, Forrest Gregg at one tackle, and a kid from BC, Jack (?) Highland at center.  How'd I do?

Sounds like the stone walls have effectively cooked everything inside.

Georgia Engel - Georgette from the Mary Tyler Moore show. She was still performing on stage at the time of her death.  Age 70. She was a graduate of my old alma mater, Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda.

Were you thinking she'd be older? I definitely thought she was older.

She played Georgette when she was 24-29. For comparison Mary Tyler Moore was 36-41 during that same period.

She played next to Ted Knight so it's not surprising. He would be 95 today but died in '86 at 63 years old.

Havlicek was the man when I started following the Celtics.  Once he moved into the starting lineup, he was consistently one of the top scorers in the NBA. Also played on a great Ohio State team that won one national championship but then could not quite get by Oscar and Cincinatti the next 2 years.

I don't know whose game is like Havlicek today.  He'd have flourished as a wing / 2 guard in current offenses with his outside shooting, ability to run, and quickness for perimeter defense.  He played a lot at small forward and never was a rebounding presence (didn't have to with Russell then Cowens, Heinsohn / Nelson / Silas, etc...), and usually played with a playmaker.

Havlicek played on one of my favorite college teams:

Jerry Lucas,  Larry Siegfried,  John Havlicek,  Bob Knight, et. al.    "Hondo" was also a solid football player who Woody Hayes recruited and the Cleveland Browns drafted.

I have a ticket stub from March 21, 1978 with Havlicek's autograph.    It was his last appearance in the Capital Centre as a Celtic.
