So do we have to start worrying about Strasburg opting out?

In the pre-season prediction thread I picked Corbin to underperform and Soto to excel.  :hysterical:

Do we have a plan to have a pitcher tomorrow or are we hoping one of these 2 games gets rained out?

Who’s pitching today? Don’t see anyone listed.

Voth tonight.    No one tomorrow.   Strasburg, Corbin, Sanchez for the first 3 Braves games, and looks like the 4th is reserved for Max or Voth.

just trade for caleb smith from miami and double-up him with voth or fedde once max is back

no way JEETS wants real prospects for smith. give them international money & like three of our turd prospects and call it a day

I see no reason to rush Scherzer back for a couple more weeks.

Unless there's a vet off the 40 man roster still in Fresno, I would imagine Fedde gets a shot at the 5th slot when needed and Max is not back.

Fedde got skipped this week. He’s likely starting against Baltimore to save the big guns for Atlanta.

maybe the Nats are just not big on commitment if they have not announced this yet.

Of course not. We're playing the orioles so we can still sweep with Voth and Fedde. Save Max for the braves.

No I mean the Braves series is irrelevant.  Give Scherzer a couple weeks off. Then get him a rehab game or two to test everything out.

@Nationals starters have gone 27 straight starts without recording a loss.

That’s the longest streak since the 1916 New York Giants. 😱

Joe "Loss" Ross is starting today. The offense better show up early, late, and in between for that streak to continue.

Testing Ross out to see if they'll need a starter by the Trade Deadline

Gausman is not much better. Could be an 11-10 game.

I still think it's doubtful the Nats go for a starter. Four out of Five ain't bad odds the rest of the way. Spend the prospects for better relief pitching.

I think ESPN bases these on pitching announcements so far.  If so,  Dave has Strasburg going on short rest against the Dodgers, so he can go against the Braves on Sunday.   They are saying Max will pitch Thursday, so I guess he will Sanchez's spot on the 30th to have our big 3 face the Braves.

Bold, if true.  Not sure I am a fan.

I don't see Strasburg going twice on short rest. He likes routine.  Stras Tuesday and Sunday, Corbin Wednesday and Monday, Scherzer Thursday and Tuesday, Sanchez Friday and Wednesday. Fedde pitches W 7/24, then I expect some roster shuffling
