Unless there's a vet off the 40 man roster still in Fresno, I would imagine Fedde gets a shot at the 5th slot when needed and Max is not back.

No I mean the Braves series is irrelevant. Give Scherzer a couple weeks off. Then get him a rehab game or two to test everything out.

I still think it's doubtful the Nats go for a starter. Four out of Five ain't bad odds the rest of the way. Spend the prospects for better relief pitching.

I think ESPN bases these on pitching announcements so far. If so, Dave has Strasburg going on short rest against the Dodgers, so he can go against the Braves on Sunday. They are saying Max will pitch Thursday, so I guess he will Sanchez's spot on the 30th to have our big 3 face the Braves.

Bold, if true. Not sure I am a fan.

I don't see Strasburg going twice on short rest. He likes routine. Stras Tuesday and Sunday, Corbin Wednesday and Monday, Scherzer Thursday and Tuesday, Sanchez Friday and Wednesday. Fedde pitches W 7/24, then I expect some roster shuffling
