I never thought he had a prayer of making the team.

He clearly didn’t put enough trust is jebus - only has himself to blame

Oh he has a 100% chance of making the team...in September, when they've been eliminated from playoff contention.

Mets sign deGrom to a 5 year $137.5 million extension. No trade, deGrom has opt out after 4 years. Club option for 2024.

that seems like a very good deal for the Mets.  Includes some deferred money too.

Age.  DeGrom will be 31 in June and still had two seasons to go until free agency.   The new deal rips up his old one for this year and covers his last arb year, plus it has an opt out after 4 years, so he's only giving up 2 potential free agent years (when he'd be hitting the market at 32, hardly ideal).

Yankees have to decide by Saturday to either bring Gio up from the minors or Gio can elect to be released.

I don't care what the situation is, I don't want that mental midget on the Nats ever again.

I liked Gio early on (despite his shaky mound presence) but please don't bring him back.    He had a good run here in 2012, etc. but it's over.

I might the Rays would bring him in. I'm sure they could figure out a way to use him effectively for 4 innings or so after Stanek or one of their openers. They would give a rat's butt about his slow approach, failure to go deep into games, high pitch counts even when he's getting folks out.
