Ticket shaming?     Really?    Oh, the humanity.

I wonder how that sales guy is going to handle a transfer to hot dogs? :)

With the Mets, he'll make more money with tips.     :)

doesn't look like we're getting Kluber for Eaton:

Sources: In Corey Kluber and Trevor Bauer trade talks, #Indians have yet to move off their insistence on a Chris Sale-level return in order to move one of them. Discussions with #Dodgers have been serious, but no sign of recent progress. @MLB @MLBNetwork

That's good...I don't think Kluber would be much of a right fielder...

Zimm will move to right, Kluber would play 1st.

Kelvin Herrera signs two year deal with White Sox. I wanted the Nats to get him.

18 million with a third year, vesting option.

The market for relievers is still quite lucrative

Jim Bowden notes at The Athletic that the Mets will pay Robinson Cano and Juan Lagares a combined $57 million this year.  For not much more than that, they could have had both Machado and Harper.

Should have taken the multi year offer from the Mets.

How much are they paying Lagares?  That’s sounds insane for a guy who has not been a regular.  Don’t forget Cespedes who is not expected to play this year.

Cano is scheduled to make 24 million and Lagares 9 million. So how did Bowden get to 57 million?  Cespedes is scheduled to make 29 million. So he and Cano would be 53 million.

The bold tells you all you need to know about the rest of the sentence.  I don't usually denigrate news reports solely based on the source, but this one is an exception.

Probably was drunk when he said that. I would assume he meant Cespedes.

I just looked at Olbermann's tweet again and he has the following:

Mr Bowden’s point: “Mets decided to trade for Canó and pay him $24 million per year through age 40. That means they’ll be paying him and... Juan Lagares a combined $33 million this year, the same amount Harper and Machado will probably end up with.”

Either he sent out a new tweet, or I misread (probably the later before Vark calls me on it). :)

Still, that doesn't make sense.  Harper + Machado > $33 million a year.

It’s a dumb point either way since Machado and Harper had no interest in the Mets.  Everyone knows they took a risk taking on Cano’s Contract. They are already paying Cespedes big money to not play.

He's saying that both Harper and Machado will likely end up making $33MM next year...not combined.

9 million

They signed him to a 5 year/23 million deal coming off his strong 2014 campaign.

Bowden was drunk so he was not sure what he was  ;)saying.  Olberman probably was also.
