Cano is scheduled to make 24 million and Lagares 9 million. So how did Bowden get to 57 million? Cespedes is scheduled to make 29 million. So he and Cano would be 53 million.

Mr Bowden’s point: “Mets decided to trade for Canó and pay him $24 million per year through age 40. That means they’ll be paying him and... Juan Lagares a combined $33 million this year, the same amount Harper and Machado will probably end up with.”
Either he sent out a new tweet, or I misread (probably the later before Vark calls me on it).
Still, that doesn't make sense. Harper + Machado > $33 million a year.
