Yep, the city is getting off easy based on that interpretation of the contract. Although it does come off as extremely greedy for billionaire owners to take millions from the tax payers to build a casino.

Bar owners around Nats Park are pissed and may sue over the boundaries prohibiting them from hosting sportsbooks. Justifiably so, they pay a special ballpark tax and they pay a high rent, it can't be legal to exclude them from a revenue stream ava to the rest of the city.

Given the amount the Nats are paying for exclusivity- oh, wait, just a giveaway with the city getting nothing in return

The city is being sued over the selection of Intralot for the mobile betting contract with no competitive bidding. Add this to the potential suit over the exclusive ballpark zones. What a mess Evans made.
