My favorite part is where he ignored that Gio is not a Nat anymore. You'd think someone who beats off to MLB depth charts would be a little more aware of such things.
Trea Turner missed the Super Two cutoff by two days. He's about to get paid.https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/10/super-two-cutoff-mlb-2018-2019.html
Once again nats management is bad at accounting
The cutoff is determined every year. Not sure how they were supposed to know what it would be three years ago when they called him up
Just like with the luxury tax, they know the formula and they got it wrong
The luxury tax threshold is is set years in advance in the CBA. The super 2 threshold is based on the top 22 percent of players between 2 and 3 years. It’s unknowable unless you can foresee what every team is doing with their guys. I guess you could have held him out another month just to be sure I guess. But once you bring him up, the only way out is to send him to the minors.
I can’t get upset with a guy getting close to what he’s worth. Plus I’m not sure what could have been done. The die was cast in 2016. Get ready for this with Soto as well.
Eovaldi as a relief ace please. Give him $14 mil a year to do so. Also get Miller, britton, ottavino, kimbrel, familia, or Robertson as well and we'd be setDoolittleEovaldiFABear clawSueroGloverSolis
The 71+ million per year bullpen
that's nowhere close to 71+ million per year on bullpen jerk
I missed the "or" I thought you meant get all of them. It's still retarded. Evoldi: 14 million AAVKimbrel: 16-20 million AAVMiller/Britton/Ottavino/Familia: ~ 10 million AAVRobertson: ~8 million AAVThat's basically 20-25 million wrapped in two bullpen guys when you already have a closer locked in at 6 million per year for the next two seasons. That seems pretty stupid when you have a bunch of other holes on the team.
In a surprise to no one, Doolittle’s option is picked up.
If I were an owner, Kimbrel would have to pay me to pitch for my team. Guy has been a shadow of what he once was in Atlanta ever since leaving there.
