  • That’s gonna be a no from me, doge.
None needed when you post nonsense that even you can't possibly believe.

Robles is setting in quite nicely. Future all-star

He's been worth .4 WAR so far this season. He's got a LONG way to go. Soto FYI is at 1.1.

And Harper is .6. So far, anyway. Just a point of comparision.

Bryce has not been good this year. Happy to see him go and get that money elsewhere.

Robles is continuing to improve gradually but surely. He seems more selective at the plate and is beginning to hit the offspeed stuff better. His defense gets better as he learns to play MLB hitters and parks. No data to prove this. Just the eye test.

And he has not been picked off for a few days now so there's that. ;)

Robles' player comp interests me. Keith Law routinely compared Robles' eventual ceiling to McCutchen's, but he reminds me more of Buxton than McCutchen tbh. I don't think we'd complain either way (Buxton without the injuries he's suffered impacting his development curve is likely a multiple time allstar), but stylistically, that's what I see.

Shoot, my apologies. Merge if necessary mods, I scoured the last five or so pages and didn't see this thread.

That's quite a highlight reel for such a short career

His range is incredible. Buxton might be his only peer in that regard. In the minors, Pache is said to have that type of range as well.

Buxton sucks.   Hopefully he’s much better than that.

Buxton definitely does not suck in the field.

If Robles could be Buxton, I'd take that.

Off a quick foot plant without much momentum.   Seems like he'd be upper 90s off a mound.  Any pitching scouting reports on him?  I'm sure he must have pitched some, somewhere along the way.

Maybe but not in our system. He’s more into getting hit by pitches. :)

  Throwbles!

Robles lifted his right index finger. He wagged it, conjuring images of former NBA star Dikembe Mutombo taunting opponents after rejecting their shots.

“Don’t run on me,” Robles said after the 3-1 victory. “Don’t run on me.”

I'm hoping somebody can hook us up with a Gadsen Flag version of this, with Robles's picture replacing the snake.

Both of Robles’s assists was clocked at over 97 mph. Those bring his season total to nine, setting a Nationals single-season record for a center fielder. Advanced metrics place him as one of the best outfielders this year, and the 22-year-old has quietly emerged as a Gold Glove candidate in his first season as a big leaguer. He has committed only three errors.

Well, some advanced metrics have him near the top.  What I think we are seeing is improvement now that is wowing.  DRS likes him, and Inside Edge his range has him near the top in low percentage (1-10%) probability catches (he's turned 28%), but for some reason other metrics like UZR are down on his arm
