I believe Carp said it matched a streak in May.

If Carp said it then it must be true.

Longest winning streak of the season?

Yup. This is seven in a row. The last winning streak was in May.

EDIT: Five in a row.

THE RACING PRECEDENTS: Comparative dates on which the Nationals notched their 74th win, each season:

2012 - 17th August (119th match of season)
2017 - 20th August (122nd match)
2014 - 23rd August (128th match)
2016 - 25th August (127th match)
2013 - 9th September (143rd match)
2018 - 12th September (146th match)
2005 - 13th September (145th match)
2015 - 15th September (144th match)
2011 - 20th September (153rd match)
---
2007 - finished 73-89
2006 - finished 71-91
2010 - finished 69-93
2008 - finished 59-102
2009 - finished 59-103

I think this puts this year's model above the '05 Overachievers for the first time in quite a while...now if only the Braves would make like the 1964 Pholding Phillies...

It looks like we can possibly catch all but the '12,'14,'16 and '17 teams.

It was just a matter of time before the battleaxe won out in the SF household. He'll be back in a few years when she tires of him and wants more time to spend by herself.

I figured that sportsfan882 is too busy with 2 toddlers to post once per minute in a GDT here. Those children will mellow him out too.
