Since August 1st Eaton has reached base in all but 5 of the games he has started.
That's not actually tremendously impressive. He's started 27 times in that span. Getting on base once in 22 of those 27 games doesn't impress me much given that he's averaging almost 4.75 PAs per start. His OBP over that period is .351. Good, overall, but not awesome for a leadoff hitter. As much as I disagree with his hyperbole, Air Desmond's comparison of Span with bad defense (or, these days, the only Span you've got) is actually pretty close.
