Also watch the Mesa Solar Sox, as they’re the Cubs affiliate. The Nats will be monitoring the PTBNL in the Murphy deal through the AFL, so there’s a good chance that one of these four will be coming to DC:

Nico Hoerner, SS/2B
Trent Giambrone, SS/2B
DJ Wilson, CF
P.J. Higgins, C

More details on these four:
https://www.bleachernation.com/2018/08/31/cubs-minor-league-daily-surveying-the-cubs-arizona-fall-league-prospects/

The catcher seems to profile as a backup, and Hoerner was the Cubs first round pick in 2018 so I’d be surprised if they move him.  So that leaves Giambrone (think of a righty Difo with higher potential for power that hasn’t been actually realized yet) and Wilson (injury prone CF who has solid  defense but needs to develop his offense).

yes.  a bit over the top on that stuff, TBH.  Nominated for the USNA but did not get an appointment (went to a school w/o NROTC at the time, did really know about OCS).

I am as well. My grandfather was on LST 622 in WWII. Some old vets rescued one of the remaining ones left in existence from the Greek navy about 10 years ago or so and brought it home. They stopped at a few cities on the east coast with Alexandria being one which is where I took the family to see it.  I think it ultimately ended up in NOLA.

Putting Vlad Jr. in the AFL really isn't fair to the pitchers.  So far in 2 games: .667 / .700 / 1.111, 6 for 9 with 4 doubles.
