The worst part about this rain delay is that the long wait could, potentially, end in one swing.  Unbelievable that the umps would ring up Zimmerman on basically a "it's not a strike but I wanna go home" play, and now it's looming large.
In all fairness, Z-man slacked in that at bat.  He HAD TO SWING AT SOMETHING, and he was a statue in the batter's box.

Flores popped a 3-2 pitch to second base to end the game; he was the only batter.

Imagine if Speigner hadn't sucked.  We scored SIX RUNS.

The ball was definitely outside the strike zone, but it looked like Zimmerman just held his bat out, which was way too far for a check swing.  That's why I think Manny exploded.  It was like, "swing the bat, and at least foul it, instead of holding the bat in place for a strikeout."  But he should have taken the pitch, way outside.

GAME COMPLETE AND OVER
WE LOSE TO THE LOWLY CARDINALS

I think Acta was angry with the call not with Zimmerman.

Or Dmitri Young playing "keep-away" with a sure out and likely double play.  Three runs resulted.

He should've been angry with both.  The ump sucked, and Z-man sucked.

Ugh, it's frustrating to lose winnable games like this.  It can all be better if we take the rubber game.

I'm not saying we would have won otherwise, but the home plate umpiring was among the worst tonight I have ever seen. I really am taking a strong liking for our guys; we were down 8-1, and ended up with the tying run at the plate! So with all the sh*t we've had to endure with injuries, the infamous starting losing streak, a pitching staff held together with glue and a prayer, we just never give up. That's Pete Rose style baseball, and I love it!

Hi gang...writing to you currently from the People's Republic of Mexifornia.  Listened to the first part of this game on XM radio on the way to a wedding, too bad we lost.  Heading to Vegas tommorow morning...wish I wasn't because I'm only a hop, skip & jump away from Dodger Stadium where the Nats will be starting Tuesday!  Nope...I'll be in Arizona by then gawkin at the Grand Canyon.  <sigh>  Oh well.

I'll keep listening on my XM and rooting for em!  Let's chalk up a Curly-W tommorow!   8)
